Besides the expectation of security provision in all areas, the psychological security of society and the prevention of disruption to it are of double importance. Jurisprudence (fiqh) has two approaches, positive and negative, in providing psychological security, and on the one hand, it has apriori and posteriori judgements and components.
[Islamic] Jurisprudence (fiqh), which is a system of dos and don’ts, places duties on the government and state agents to create psychological security, and also assigns duties to the members of society. From this perspective, ensuring the psychological security of society is a comprehensive obligation, and all parts of society have a responsibility in maintaining it.
This article, which is written in a descriptive-analytical manner, seeks to examine some of the Islamic jurisprudential principles and rules related to the psychological scurity of society. In addition, the role of these principles and rules in creating, providing, maintaining, and developing the psychological security of society is analyzed in more detail. Numerous Islamic jurisprudential principles, including the principle of “fiction of veracity,” the principle of “possession,” the principle of “Muslim market,” the principle of “no harm,” the principle of “the obligation to maintain Islamic system,” the principle of “the prohibition of system disruption,” the principle of “denial of domination over Muslims by non-believers,” and other Islamic jurisprudential principles, can be invoked in this matter.
