Abstract
The Qur’ān, as a charter of individual and social life for Muslims, contains profound teachings regarding the highest levels of social and civilisational existence. Verse 141 of Surah An-Nisā’, “and Allah will never provide the faithless any way [to prevail] over the faithful.” known as the “Rule of Rejection of Infidels’ Domination and Authority over the Faithful,” is viewed by most Shiʿa commentators and some Sunni commentators as a type of indicative statement (ikhbārī) considered as an “intention to originate”(inshāī). The results of the research show that divine will has decreed that (despite the permissibility of the Islamic community and state engaging with non-hostile and non-oppressive states and societies), the path for the infiltration and dominance of infidels over Muslims in any form and instance, across all cultural, political, security, economic, health, scientific, technological, virtual space, and other domains, is to be blocked. According to the jurists of the Islamic world and based on this legal rule, any form of relationship, contract, unilateral act, or transaction that leads to the dominance and control of an infidel over a Muslim will be invalid and forbidden in all the aforementioned domains. This ruling necessitates the civilisational independence of the Islamic world from material and non-divine civilisations. This article aims to how one can utilise an ijtihadi-based method (a method which is based on independent reasoning) to uncover the negative and positive capacities and civilisational implications of the abovementioned Qur’anic verse.
